The Whipple Alternator Relocation Kit is a race-tested solution designed to solve belt slip and bracket flex issues commonly found in high-horsepower S197, S550, and S650 Mustang applications. Developed by Whipple Superchargers, this billet relocation system is engineered to work with an ATI harmonic balancer (standard diameter or 20% overdrive) to dramatically shorten the supercharger belt and improve belt wrap and stability.
By relocating the alternator, this system reduces belt length and eliminates alternator bracket deflection that can occur under high RPM and boost. The kit retains the factory alternator pulley to maintain proper alternator RPM and uses the OEM spring-loaded tensioner for reliable operation across the entire RPM range. Best of all, it allows you to retain factory A/C functionality and routing while significantly improving supercharger belt performance.
The lightweight Whipple crank pulley bolts directly to the ATI balancer and includes all required billet brackets, spacers, and mounting hardware for a straightforward installation. Whether installed in-car or on an engine stand, this is a must-have upgrade for serious Coyote builds that see high boost, track use, or dragstrip duty.
