Gen 6 3.0L Supercharger Technology
At the heart of this system is Whipple’s latest Generation 6 front-feed 3.0L supercharger. Featuring all-new bearings, gears, rotors, and housing, the Gen 6 unit delivers exceptional efficiency across the entire RPM range. The advanced 3x4 rotor combination, optimized 285-degree helix angle, redesigned bell-mouth inlet, and optimized discharge port allow the supercharger to move more air with lower heat and reduced parasitic loss.
The oversized Crusher™ 150mm inlet ensures airflow is never a restriction, supporting current and future throttle body upgrades without limiting performance.
Cooling Built for Big Power
To safely support 800+ horsepower, Whipple equips the Stage 2 kit with the largest intercooler system available for the S550 Mustang. The patented dual-core, dual-pass air-to-water intercooler is paired with an oversized heat exchanger, high-flow intercooler pump, and dedicated water reservoir.
This cooling system delivers dramatically lower intake air temperatures, faster recovery between pulls, and consistent power output during aggressive street driving or repeated track passes.
Calibration & Engine Management
Included with the kit is an HP Tuners RTD flash tool pre-loaded with Whipple’s proprietary Stage 2 calibration. Developed using OEM-level strategies and extensive real-world testing, the calibration precisely manages fuel delivery, spark timing, knock control, torque modeling, transmission behavior, and electronic throttle control.
An included IAT2 sensor and harness allows the PCM to monitor post-intercooler air temperatures, optimizing power and safety across varying driving conditions.
