Adjustable Solid Axle Conversion Crossmember for S550 Mustangs
The TRZ Motorsports Solid Axle Conversion Crossmember with Adjustable LCA Mounts (Part #S550-204 & 209-32) allows 2015 - 2023 Mustang S550 owners to convert the factory IRS setup into a proven Fox Body - style triangulated 4-link. This version includes adjustable lower control arm mounts with doublers supplied but not welded, giving builders full control over final LCA geometry and structural placement.
The kit comes complete with the crossmember plus upper and lower control arm hardware and inserts for existing 3/4? rod ends. While the crossmember bolts to the factory frame locations for alignment, it must be fully welded into the chassis. Proper installation requires reinforcing the upper and lower torque box areas and tying the crossmember into additional cage structure. A 25.5 MINIMUM chassis is required for safe use.
The adjustable design allows tuning via multi-hole UCA and LCA mounts and works with both 9? and 8.8 housings. Centered and stock pinion offset locations are both acceptable. Housing-side LCA brackets must be relocated to 32.5? - 34? on center, and TRZ offers weld-on brackets that can be added via the dropdown menu.
This conversion requires Fox Body - length upper and lower control arms. TRZ recommends:
