The TRZ Motorsports Lightweight Adjustable Steering Column is a race-focused upgrade engineered for 1971 - 1976 Chevrolet Impala and Caprice B-Body enthusiasts who want precise steering feel, cockpit adjustability, and reduced front-end weight. Built around TRZ's signature 6061 aluminum swivel ball and mount, this column provides 10 height adjustment positions to fine-tune driver ergonomics for drag racing, pro-touring, or high-performance street builds.
This steering column is designed to mount from the quick-release hub to just a couple inches past the firewall. It does not include the steering shaft that travels through the engine bay, giving builders the flexibility to select or fabricate the proper shaft based on header clearance, rack placement, and custom suspension layouts. TRZ includes a loose Delrin bushing that must be pressed into the outer tube and reamed to .75" ID to ensure smooth steering action.
The column features a five-hole mounting pattern, ensuring compatibility with factory B-Body firewall configurations that may use three- or four-bolt patterns. This makes installation easier across various OEM variations found in 1971 - 1976 full-frame Chevy models.
