The TRZ Motorsports Lightweight Adjustable Steering Column delivers precision steering feel and improved cockpit ergonomics for 1978 - 1988 Chevy Malibu G-Body builds. Engineered with TRZ's proven 6061 aluminum swivel ball and mount, this column offers 10 height adjustment positions, allowing racers and street/strip drivers to fine-tune steering wheel position for more comfort, control, and consistency.
This unit mounts from the quick-release hub to just beyond the firewall and does not include the long steering shaft that runs through the engine bay. That omission is intentional - allowing custom builders the flexibility to run aftermarket shafts, accommodate header clearance, or configure steering linkage around non-stock suspension setups. TRZ includes a loose Delrin bushing that must be pressed into the outer tube and reamed to .75" for smooth steering movement.
The column also features a five-hole mounting pattern, ensuring compatibility with G-Body firewall variations that use either three or four factory mounting holes. This adaptability makes installation straightforward across all 1978 - 1988 Malibu configurations.
