Coilover-Specific Lower Control Arms for 1977 - 1996 Impala & Caprice
The TRZ Motorsports 322-CO-Lowers are high-strength tubular lower control arms designed specifically for coilover conversions on 1977 - 1996 Chevrolet Impala and Caprice B-Body vehicles. Constructed from TIG-welded chrome-moly tubing, these lowers provide superior rigidity, reduced weight, and improved suspension geometry for drag racing applications.
These coilover-only lowers accept all 1" wide à 1/2" ID bearing-style lower coilover shock mounts, allowing compatibility with most coilover systems. For QA1 shocks, TRZ recommends the COM8T-102PK bearing kit to ensure proper fitment. With 316-style geometry, these arms generally lower the front end by about 2 inches. Using 319/S10-style geometry, racers can achieve a more aggressive 2 - 3 inch drop depending on setup.
When used alongside TRZ's PRO Series upper control arms, the complete system supports 6 - 7 degrees of positive caster, dramatically improving high-speed straight-line stability. Uppers or lowers alone cannot achieve this caster range. The uppers also include travel limiters for precise front-end rise and weight-transfer tuning during hard launches.
Note: TRZ control arms are built for drag racing only. They do not include sway bar tabs and are not intended for street use.
