TRZ Motorsports Bump Steer Kit for Rack & Pinion Conversions - TRZ Spindle (4130 & Billet) (1978 - 1988 Chevy Malibu - G-Body) - 319-202-1T
Bump Steer Correction for TRZ Spindles on 1978 - 1988 Malibu G-Body
This TRZ Motorsports Bump Steer Kit is engineered specifically for TRZ 4130 and Billet spindles on the 1978 - 1988 Chevy Malibu G-Body. When converting to rack-and-pinion steering or lowering your Malibu, steering geometry naturally changes - this adjustable kit allows you to correct bump steer and maintain predictable handling.
Because TRZ spindles reposition the steering arm (Part #303), they require a longer tie-rod setup than factory spindles. This kit provides correct-length components along with chrome-moly rod ends, Grade 8 hardware, and 6061 aluminum spacers to fine-tune geometry precisely. The spindle's tapered steering arm hole must be drilled to a 1/2? straight bore to accept the included hardware.
Compatible with both Standard and Narrowed Pinto rack-and-pinion systems (1/2-20 thread). TRZ notes that your rack selection may show "Narrowed Rack" at checkout - verify you're selecting the correct rack length for your Malibu.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this kit differ from the factory-spindle version?
TRZ spindles relocate the steering arm, requiring longer tie-rods and specific spacer geometry. This kit is built to match those dimensions exactly.
Do I still need to drill the steering arm?
Yes. The tapered factory-style hole must be drilled to a 1/2? straight bore to use the included hardware.
