Manual Rack & Pinion Conversion for TRZ Drop Spindles (1964 - 1967 Chevelle)
The TRZ Motorsports GM Manual Rack and Pinion Conversion Kit for TRZ 1.5" or 2" drop spindles delivers a major steering upgrade for 1964 - 1967 Chevelle A-Body platforms. This system replaces the bulky stock linkage with a properly narrowed Pinto-style manual rack engineered specifically for high-performance and drag-race applications.
These kits are not bolt-in. Cutting, welding, and fabrication are required, and TRZ recommends professional chassis-shop installation to ensure correct geometry and proper rack placement.
Each kit includes an adjustable bump-steer and tie-rod adjuster kit, a rack clamp and mount plate, a 3/4" chrome-moly steering shaft with shaft brace, and three chrome-moly U-joints (one 9/16" - 26 spline to 3/4" plus two 3/4" x 3/4" smooth joints). When applicable, billet aluminum steering arms are included for 1967 - 1969 Camaro/Firebird, 1968 - 1974 Nova, and 1964 - 1972 A-Body setups.

- Factory / Non-TRZ Drop Spindles: Brands like Belltech, Summit, etc., are considered factory-style and use the standard version of this kit.
- TRZ Drop Spindles (1.5" or 2"): Require a different length tie-rod adjuster for improved toe correction and bump-steer tuning. This kit (317-3T-1) is the correct option.
