TRZ Motorsports GM Manual Rack and Pinion Conversion Kit - Factory Spindles (1964 - 1967 Chevelle - A-Body) - 317-3-1
Manual Rack & Pinion Conversion for 1964 - 1967 Chevelle (A-Body)
The TRZ Motorsports GM Manual Rack and Pinion Conversion Kit transforms the steering performance of your 1964 - 1967 Chevelle by replacing the cumbersome factory steering system with a Pinto-style manual rack properly narrowed for the A-Body platform. This swap greatly improves steering precision, steering feel, and weight reduction - ideal for drag racing and high-performance street builds.
These kits are not bolt-in installations. Cutting, welding, and chassis modification are required, and TRZ strongly recommends professional installation at a qualified chassis shop.
The system includes an adjustable bump-steer and tie-rod adjuster kit, rack clamp and mount plate, a 3/4" chrome-moly steering shaft with shaft brace, and three chrome-moly U-joints (one 9/16" - 26 spline to 3/4" joint plus two 3/4" x 3/4" smooth joints). Where applicable, Billet Aluminum Steering Arms are included for 1967 - 1969 Camaro/Firebird, 1968 - 1974 Nova, and 1964 - 1972 A-body vehicles.
