The factory 6R80 center support is an all-aluminum drum that houses the intermediate clutch pack and lower reverse piston, with the direct drum shaft passing through its center. Over time, the aluminum design proves to be a weak point, leading to galling and damage in high-stress applications.

PBH resolves this issue by machining back the OEM aluminum and pressing in a durable bronze bushing.
