GPI L86 (6.2L) DI Truck High Lift Cams - STG2 (2014 GMC Sierra 1500 6.2L / Chevy Silverado) - L86HL2

High-Lift Stage 2 Camshaft for 6.2L DI Trucks

The GPI L86HL2 STG2 camshaft is engineered for truck owners who want a noticeable jump in performance over STG1 while still maintaining strong low-end torque and excellent drivability. Built for the 6.2L L86 Direct Injected platform, this cam delivers more power up top, sharper throttle response, and a more aggressive character - ideal for street/strip builds running a 3000+ RPM converter.

As a high-lift LT cam, the L86HL2 requires dual .660" valve springs and a GPI phaser limiter. Designed to be strong to 6400 RPM, this camshaft is perfect for trucks wanting improved mid-range and top-end power without sacrificing the torque that makes these trucks so enjoyable to drive.

Optimized for N/A and Centrifugal Superchargers

The STG2 profile pairs exceptionally well with centrifugal superchargers thanks to its naturally aspirated-like, linear power curve. If you're running N/A now but plan to add boost later, this cam provides a seamless transition and strong performance in both setups.

FAQs

Is a higher-stall converter required for the STG2?

Yes. A 3000+ RPM converter is necessary to take full advantage of the cam's powerband and maintain smooth drivability.

Can this cam be used with a centrifugal supercharger?

Absolutely. The linear power curve of the STG2 makes it an excellent match for centrifugal blower setups, both now and in future upgrades.
