This cam is designed specifically for trucks with minimal supporting modifications and is fully compatible with the stock torque converter. High Lift Requirements & Installation Notes

As a high lift LT truck cam, the L83HL1 requires specific components for proper operation:

  • Dual .660? valve springs required
  • GPI 4° Phaser Limiter required
  • No cylinder head milling without checking piston-to-valve clearance
  • Flycutting may be required due to tight L83 piston design

Excellent for NA or Centrifugal Supercharger Builds

Originally engineered for naturally aspirated combinations, the L83HL1 also works extremely well with centrifugal blowers thanks to the similar, linear power curve they generate. It is a strong choice for truck owners who may add boost later and want a cam that's ready to grow with their build.
