GPI High Lift LS Camshaft for GM Trucks (4.8L / 5.3L / 6.0L / 6.2L) - HLT3
High Lift Performance Camshaft for Serious Street & Hot Rod Builds
The GPI HLT3 High Lift LS Camshaft is built for enthusiasts who want a more aggressive engine character, stronger RPM pull, and a true performance idle. Designed for 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L LS engines, the HLT3 delivers a "big cam" sound while maintaining a street-friendly powerband starting around 2,750 RPM.
While the HLT3 works on stock bottom-end engines, it makes excellent gains when paired with high-flow intake and exhaust systems and shorter rear gear ratios. Because of its aggressive nature, an increased stall-speed torque converter and headers are required.
High Lift Performance Series Overview
The HLT3 and HLT4 cams make up GPI's High Lift Performance series - engineered specifically for applications where the owner wants a harder-hitting powerband, more RPM capability, and a noticeable step up in sound and acceleration. Popular in Silverados, Sierras, Tahoes, Avalanches, and thousands of LS-swapped hot rods, these camshafts shine in builds that demand attitude and performance.

FAQs
Do I need a stall converter for the HLT3?
Yes. The HLT3 requires an increased stall-speed torque converter for proper drivability and to access the cam's ideal powerband.
Can the HLT3 work on a stock engine?
Yes, but it performs best with supporting mods such as headers, a high-flow intake, and upgraded gearing.
