8:1 Rising-Rate FMU for EFI Vortech Supercharger Systems
The Vortech Standard Fuel Management Unit (FMU) (PN 6Z110-143) is a precision secondary fuel pressure regulator designed for multi-point electronic fuel injected (EFI) engines running Vortech supercharger systems. This 8:1 rising-rate FMU installs inline with the factory fuel pressure regulator on the return line and increases fuel pressure in direct proportion to boost pressure, helping maintain safe air-to-fuel ratios under boost.
Proper operation assumes the fuel pump in use is capable of supplying the pressure and flow required as boost increases. Like all Vortech FMUs, this unit is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a durable blue anodized coating for long-term reliability and corrosion resistance.
How the 8:1 FMU Calibration Is Used
The 8:1 FMU calibration is intended for Vortech supercharged applications that require less aggressive fuel pressure increases than the standard 12:1 unit while still supporting safe fueling under boost. This ratio is commonly paired with moderately upgraded injectors, striking a balance between fuel pressure control and drivability.
Higher ratios such as 12:1 are typically used with original equipment injectors, while lower ratios (6:1, 4:1, and 3:1) are designed for high-output custom builds using significantly larger injectors.
