What Can My Device Do?
The RTD Gen 4 Device is more than just a flash programmer. It can:
- Store up to 10 custom tunes
- Monitor engine parameters (RPM, coolant temp, speed, and more)
- Datalog to fine-tune calibrations for current or future mods
- Keep a backup of your factory tune so you can return to stock anytime
Using the RTD Gen 4 Flasher
Most applications use the HP Tuners RTD Flasher via Windows PC. A stable Wi-Fi connection and a charged laptop are required.
- Install the RTD Flasher software on your PC.
- Connect your RTD Gen 4 device to your Mustangs OBD-II port and PC via the provided USB-C cable.
- Turn ignition to ON (do not start engine).
- Select Read Vehicle > Gather Info in the software.
- Save your stock file (e.g., FirstName LastName stockfile) and email it to 5 Star Tuning.
- Receive custom tune files via email, download them, and load them through the RTD Flasher.
- Resync interface, license controllers, and write tune to your vehicle following on-screen prompts.
- Cycle ignition when promptedyour 5 Star Custom Tune is now installed.
Do I Need a Shop to Install?
No. Installation is DIY-friendly and requires no special tools. Most customers complete the process in minutes.
