The Vortech Superchargers Tuner Kit (PN 4GA218-070) is a high-horsepower, universal centrifugal supercharger solution engineered for carbureted Big Block Chevrolet engines. Designed for serious street/strip and race applications, this tuner kit features Vortech's flagship V-7 YSi supercharger paired with a 50mm cog-drive compatible system for extreme boost stability and belt control.
This tuner kit is intended for custom installations and higher-output builds where the installer supplies fuel system components and carburetion. Depending on engine efficiency, boost level, and supporting modifications, users can expect horsepower gains ranging from approximately 30% to over 75%.
V-7 YSi Supercharger Technology
The V-7 YSi is Vortech's highest-capacity centrifugal supercharger, engineered for maximum airflow and durability in extreme horsepower applications. Featuring a race-proven compressor design and robust gear-driven architecture, the YSi is commonly used in competitive drag racing and high-boost carbureted combinations.
This unit utilizes a clockwise rotation, straight discharge configuration and is capable of supporting well beyond typical street power levels when paired with appropriate engine internals and fueling.

Carbureted Application Notes
This tuner kit is designed for carbureted Big Block Chevy engines and does not include a carburetor enclosure box. A compatible enclosure or carburetor hat must be sourced separately. Vortech PowerHat options are available and recommended.
The installer must supply:
- High-volume fuel pump
- Properly jetted 4150-style carburetor with mechanical secondaries
Verified Fitment & Clearance Notes
This kit has been verified to fit 1964-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and Malibu models equipped with a cowl induction hood. Minor underside hood support modifications may be required depending on the intake manifold used.
Fitment on other Big Block Chevy applications may be possible but has not been confirmed.

Drive System & Cog Conversion Options
This system includes a 10-rib belt drive as supplied. Optional drive components are available to convert the system to a 36mm or 50mm wide, 8mm pitch cog drive for high-boost race applications.
