The Vortech Superchargers V-7 YSi Tuner Kit (PN 4GA218-058) is a high-output, universal-style supercharger package engineered for carbureted Big Block Chevrolet engines. Featuring a show-quality polished finish, this tuner kit combines Vortech's flagship V-7 YSi centrifugal supercharger with a heavy-duty 10-rib serpentine drive system, delivering exceptional airflow capacity, belt stability, and scalability for serious street/strip and competition builds.
This configuration is designed specifically for builders who want maximum flexibility. As a tuner kit, it intentionally excludes fuel system and carburetion components, allowing custom tuning and fuel strategies tailored to engine displacement, compression ratio, camshaft selection, and intended use.
Important Tuner Kit Notes
Carbureted tuner kits do NOT include a carburetor enclosure box. A compatible enclosure or hat must be sourced separately. Vortech's PowerHat is available as an optional add-on for blow-through carbureted applications.
Verified & Potential Fitment Applications
This kit has been verified to fit 1964-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and Malibu models equipped with a cowl induction hood. Depending on intake manifold choice, minor bottom-side hood support modifications may be required.
While the system may also fit other Big Block Chevy platforms, those applications have not been formally confirmed and should be evaluated during mock-up.
Performance Expectations
Depending on boost level, engine volumetric efficiency, and overall engine configuration, this system is capable of delivering approximately 30-75%+ horsepower gains. With the supplied pulley ratio, the kit produces approximately 5-6 PSI at 5,000 RPM on a mildly modified 454 cubic-inch Big Block Chevy.
V-7 YSi Supercharger Technology
The V-7 YSi is Vortech's highest-capacity centrifugal supercharger, designed for extreme airflow demands and sustained high-RPM operation. This setup features clockwise (CW) rotation and a straight discharge, making it ideal for large-displacement engines and future high-boost upgrades.
