8-Rib Pulley Upgrade Kit for 2011-2012 Mustang GT Supercharger Systems

The Paxton Superchargers 8-Rib Pulley Upgrade Kit (PN 4FQ116-005) is engineered to improve belt traction and drive stability on 2011-2012 Ford Mustang GT vehicles equipped with Vortech or Paxton centrifugal supercharger systems. This configuration is designed for vehicles using a 4-bolt factory water pump pulley and excludes the crank damper, making it ideal for specific performance upgrades or replacement scenarios.

By converting to an 8-rib drive system, this upgrade significantly reduces belt slip under higher load conditions while retaining the factory automatic belt tensioner for OEM-level reliability and belt control.

Important Installation & Tuning Notes

  • Custom ECM tuning and fuel/ignition system upgrades are required whenever pulley ratios are changed from the original supercharger kit configuration
  • Improper pulley selection can negatively impact engine and supercharger longevity
  • Contact Vortech Technical Support for impeller speed calculations if needed
  • Changing supercharger pulleys may reduce or void the supercharger warranty
  • A Vortech BV-57 or Mondo compressor bypass valve is required for applications exceeding 13 psig

Special Tools Required

  • 17mm hex impact driver (OEM alternator pulley removal)
  • Crankshaft damper puller / installer tool
