The Vortech Superchargers Tuner Kit (PN 4FK218-028L) is a Standard Output, non-charge-cooled tuner kit designed specifically for 1996-1998 Ford Mustang Cobra models equipped with the 4.6L 4-valve DOHC V8. This exact configuration features a polished V-3 SCi-Trim internally lubricated centrifugal supercharger and is intended for custom-tuned, high-performance builds where maximum flexibility is required.
This kit is configured with NO charge cooler. It is not a complete street system and is purpose-built for racers and experienced tuners who plan to select their own fueling components, calibration strategy, and boost levels.

V-3 SCi-Trim Supercharger Technology
The V-3 SCi-Trim supercharger uses Vortech's self-contained internal lubrication system, eliminating the need for external engine oil feed and return lines. Vortech's SQ (Super Quiet) gear drive design provides smooth, quiet operation while delivering efficient airflow throughout the RPM range.
The advanced impeller and compressor housing geometry - developed in Vortech's supercharger test cell - supports strong power delivery, thermal efficiency, and long-term reliability under aggressive use.
Optional High Output Charge-Cooled System (Not Included)
Vortech also offers a High Output charge-cooled supercharger system for the 1996-1998 Cobra platform. This configuration incorporates a fully integrated air-to-water charge cooler and higher boost levels. Vortech states this setup can increase horsepower from 305 to 484 and torque from 285 lb./ft. to 423 lb./ft.
Important: High Output charge-cooled systems require a battery relocation kit (PN 8N150-010, sold separately). These components are not included with PN 4FK218-028L.
