The Vortech Superchargers High Output Complete System (PN 4FA218-078T) is a fully calibrated, bolt-on centrifugal supercharger system engineered specifically for the 19861993 Ford Mustang 5.0L. This version features a high-visibility polished finish and combines Vortechs Heavy Duty V-1 Ti supercharger with an air-to-water charge cooler for high-output performance and effective thermal control.
This is a complete street system, not a tuner kit, designed to deliver reliable power while supporting higher horsepower levels when properly configured.
V-1 H/D Ti Supercharger Technology
The V-1 Heavy Duty Ti centrifugal supercharger is designed for high-power applications and is capable of supporting up to 950 horsepower, depending on engine configuration and custom tuning. The V-1 Ti features a robust, gear-driven design and is engine-oil lubricated, making it well suited for demanding performance environments.
Because the V-1 Ti is engine-oil lubricated, it requires oil feed and drain connections. For sustained high-load operation, a dedicated oil cooler and/or oil filter may be added.
Air-to-Water Charge Cooling Advantage
For Fox Body Mustang applications, Vortech utilizes an air-to-water charge cooler system to minimize pressure loss. Unlike air-to-air systems that route charge air through long tubing paths and large intercooler cores, this system maintains a short charge-air path comparable to the non-cooled configurationresulting in virtually no boost loss.
Charge cooling delivers cooler, denser air, increasing power output, reducing detonation risk, and allowing higher boost capability.

This High Output system falls within Vortechs 79 PSI system range. Fox Body Mustang systems are also available with V-2 Si and V-3 Si superchargers, as well as tuner kits for heavily modified vehicles requiring custom fuel systems and tuning.
