The Vortech Superchargers High Output Complete System (PN 4FA218-078L) is a fully calibrated, bolt-on centrifugal supercharger system engineered specifically for the 1986–1993 Ford Mustang 5.0L. This version features a high-visibility polished finish and combines Vortech’s V-3 Si supercharger with an air-to-water charge cooler for strong, repeatable power with excellent thermal efficiency.

This is a complete street system, not a tuner kit, designed to deliver reliable high-output performance while maintaining drivability and emissions compliance when installed as intended.

V-3 Si Supercharger Technology

The V-3 Si centrifugal supercharger represents Vortech’s most advanced street supercharger technology. Continued development in Vortech’s SAE J1723-compliant test lab resulted in the “Si” (improved) model, which achieves a peak 78% adiabatic efficiency. Higher efficiency means less heat generation, reduced drive power loss, and more net horsepower.

All V-3 series superchargers feature a self-contained lubrication system, eliminating the need for engine oil feed or drain lines. This simplifies installation while improving long-term reliability.

Air-to-Water Charge Cooling Advantage

For Fox Body Mustang applications, Vortech utilizes an air-to-water charge cooler system to minimize pressure loss. Unlike air-to-air systems that route charge air through long tubing paths and large cooler cores, this design keeps the charge air path comparable to the non-cooled configuration—resulting in virtually no boost loss.

Charge cooling delivers cooler, denser intake air, increasing power output, reducing detonation risk, and supporting higher boost capability.
