The Vortech V-30 128A Supercharger Head Unit is the largest and most powerful compressor in the V-30 lineup, engineered for extreme racing applications where maximum airflow, boost capability, and durability are required. Developed as a clean-sheet replacement for the previous V-28 128, the 128A is designed for serious competition engines pushing well beyond the 1,000 horsepower range.
At the core of the V-30 128A is a high-efficiency 5-axis CNC-machined billet impeller paired with a high-diffusion compressor housing, developed and validated in Vortech's SAE J1723-compliant supercharger test cell. This advanced compressor architecture allows the 128A to deliver massive airflow while maintaining excellent efficiency at extreme boost levels.
The V-30 platform incorporates a patented impeller shaft support system engineered to withstand the extreme shaft speeds and acceleration loads seen in high-horsepower drag racing and other severe competition environments. All V-30 superchargers share a 4.21:1 internal step-up ratio and are engine oil lubricated, though custom auxiliary oiling systems can be fabricated if required. The modular V-30 design allows multiple compressor stages to share the same robust architecture.
With the ability to support 50+ PSI and massive airflow, the V-30 128A is intended for top-tier drag racing, outlaw, and other extreme motorsports applications where peak power and sustained durability are critical.
