The Vortech V-7 Heavy Duty YSi-B Trim Supercharger Head Unit (PN 2A159-064) represents the next step in centrifugal compressor development for extreme horsepower applications. Featuring a 5-axis CNC-machined billet impeller and a high-diffusion housing developed in Vortech's SAE J1723-compliant supercharger test cell, this YSi-B trim head unit is engineered to deliver massive airflow with exceptional efficiency under sustained high boost.
This configuration uses counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation, a straight discharge, a no-ears housing for custom mounting solutions, and a durable black finish, making it ideal for race-focused builds where space, strength, and airflow are critical.
Advanced V-7 Series Supercharger Technology
The V-7 Series combines Vortech's latest aerodynamic advancements with proven race durability and fits most existing Vortech mounting bracketry. Designed for vehicles with highly modified engines and extreme CFM and boost demands, all V-7 units utilize Vortech's exclusive D-port volute to improve discharge efficiency and maintain stable airflow at elevated pressure ratios.
Due to the airflow capability of the YSi-B trim, this head unit requires the use of a Vortech Racing Bypass Valve or larger to properly manage compressor discharge flow.
Heavy Duty (H/D) Race Configuration
This Heavy Duty (H/D) YSi-B configuration features high-speed ceramic hybrid ball bearings and a straight-cut spur gear drive, making it ideally suited for competition use and sustained high-RPM operation. The H/D design is also compatible with cog pulley / Gilmer-style drive systems, ensuring reliable power transfer in extreme boost environments.
