Bluestreak 6R80 Billet B Drum
The Bluestreak Billet B drum was designed to rectify an issue that occurs in high horsepower 6R80 using a transbrake and high apply pressures in B clutch where the drum balloons out and destroys the transmission case as shown on the next page. As part of the design improvements our Billet B drum also incorporates an extended drive surface to add 2 additional clutches to the stack up, meaning a typical install will provide 9 frictions (up from the 7 in an Exedy/GPZ drop in) and vastly greater than the 4 or 5 frictions found in stock applications. The kit is supplied as a drop in replacement drum along with a chamfered snap ring for the Centre support which replaces the one in your transmission and is installed chamfer side up as shown on page 3. The snap ring groove in the billet drum is narrower than factory and features a square profile to prevent the snap ring “popping out” We recommend the 2.3mm ring found in the Exedy stage 2 kit for snug fitment into the top plate.
